Everything you need to know about certified translations
Do you have to submit an important document to an authority or institution and need a certified translation? We provide professional translations prepared exclusively by sworn translators. This ensures that your documents are legally valid and accepted by authorities, courts, universities and employers.
What is a certified translation?
Unlike a standard translation, a certified translation includes a certifying statement confirming that the text has been translated completely and accurately. This confirmation can be issued only by a sworn translator.
Whether your document is a birth certificate, a diploma or a contract – by choosing a certified translation, you ensure that it will be accepted wherever an official translation is required.
When do you need a certified translation?
A certified translation (that is, a translation with a certifying statement) is necessary whenever documents need to be legally or officially recognised. Typical situations include:
- Recognising marriage or birth certificates abroad or in Germany
- Applying for university admission or jobs abroad
- Applying for visas, residence, or work permits
- Participating in court proceedings or preparing notarial acts, which often require an additional notarised certification
- Signing international contracts or drafting business documents
